Friday night in San Fran

Post by Comte Flaneur »

Just a trial balloon and I may be talking out of turn...would there be any interest in doing a burgundy - mainly red - dinner on Friday night as an alternative to Spain?...I am doing a Spanish tasting dinner in early May...so two in one month may be a bit much...or is burgundy off limits?

Comte - is your plan to go to Ed's flat prior, and then a late dinner? If so, I might be interested as well.

Just so people know how to plan the dinners, most restaurant usually are closed at 10:00pm (some even at 9:30pm) Thursdays. For Fridays, they are open till 11:00pm. This is the case for Incanto and Delfina (Italian food).

We are indeed planning to visit with the SF's that evening before dinner. I'm stepping outside of the Right Bank theme and repatriating a few California antiquities. So hopefully we can get a later dinner reservation, either near Ed and Lisa's or near the hotel?

The Barolo dinner sounds like it will be amazing -- how can a dinner with two Monfo's not be??!! -- but we're committed elsewhere on Thursday evening.

We would like to go to Ed's event first as well...I presume that the people going to the Spanish dinner will be doing likewise?

I am going to Ed's first.
I may join you as well if not far from the SF downtown hotel.
Where? time?

I will be at Ed's, along with some Right Banks, but afterwards I have a non-BWE dinner I need to attend. So I will miss out on all the great Spanish and Italian wines. :(

I will go early to Ed's but I will visit some non-BWE late that night, so I will miss the late Friday dinner activities.
Will see you all then on Saturday.

Our reservation for Friday night at One Market with the Spanish wine theme is for 7 PM, so obviously it's not an option for those going to Ed's place.

I count seven people so far. We have room for more, but I'd like to get an accurate head count fairly soon. If anyone wants to back out, I'm not insulted. I'd like to go to all three events myself if I could.
