That was a fun interview with Francois. Looks like he's lost some weight.

So those were pics of the empties. What did the cellar with the full bottles look like? Does he still have cellars in various different cities?

I had 1961 Hermitage La Chapelle once. It was a great bottle but not in my top 5. Then again, it was 45 years old when I had it, and though it appeared well-stored, there are no great wines at that age, only great bottles.

I had not seen Jim since 2003 and Dany and Larry since our trip to Bordeaux 10 years ago.
I see frequently Tim at the dinners of the Academy for Ancient Wines.

Francois, I enjoyed the pic of your expansive wine room, wow!
Though I have to ask you about the way they are stored. Maybe I am wrong but storing your bottles standing I feel could compromise their integrity. I would be too scared that the corks would dry out and shrink or does your room have extremely high humidity? Even then I still be quite fearful, but what do I know, the oldest bottle I own is an '86

RG - those are the empties. The full bottles are elsewhere. Either Jim's phone died before he could get pictures of the full bottles, or the contents of Francois' cellar is a matter of national security.

The last one who took pictures of full bottles was found dead in the zoo of Vincennes.
