Well, maybe we could just get some kind of food to go and hang out at the cove.

I'm up for anything.
Could we just order of the list to get thru dinner and retire to a room for cheese and tasting ?
Since Jim knows the lay of the land, I'll see what he thinks.

Yes I think that makes great sense, rob.
I'm putting some thoughts together on dining options which I hope to post by tomorrow.
This will be a great weekend, I can't wait!

It doesn't look like Smuggler's Cove Inn does dinner (only breakfast), but do they have any facility we could use to grill up some meat one night? They may be accommodating since it’s kind of off season.

I think you Massachusetts guys need to get out of work a little early on Thursday and get up to Lewiston for the real party!
I'll be out of the country the next few days, we'll finalize the plans early next week. I'm excited about BWE Maine '09!

Re: Itinerary for BWE Maine '09
Jim - I wish I could make it up for Thursday night, sounds like a lot of fun. It's just not possible. I'm sure we'll find some opportunity to drink well in BoothBay Harbor.
Susan and Rob - Susan & Michael and Lisa & I are good to go Sunday the 6th. It looks like my house is our best option, so I'll do some cooking. I'll send you my address via email. There is a commuter rail that runs out of North Station to my town but the weekend schedule isn't great. We'll come up with some way to get you out and back.
Any other Boston area BWE'ers want to join us?

Gerry, it would be great if you guys could make it. A dinner party with three Susans--my wife says it wouldn't be the first time for her!
Re: Itinerary for BWE Maine '09
I'm about to pack up some wines tonight.
Any particular requests?
A wine you've wanted to try?
Or just surprise everyone?

Re: Itinerary for BWE Maine '09
I count the following as confirmed for dinner at my house on Thursday evening:
Sue/Rob, Peggy/Jay, Mike McNamara.
Does anyone have any dinner preferences? I've been in the mindset of grilling some steaks to match with the wines, but I'm completely flexible, we can cook anything you want!
If anyone else is thinking of attending the Thursday night dinner, there's no rush in letting us know, I can accomodate two to 20.

The weather forecast for the next seven days looks pretty spectacular, looks like you'll have some nice weather for your trip up to Camden/Rockport, Rob and Sue!
Now if we can just extend it out another few days....

Just got a call from Fed Ex, Susan, your delivery is scheduled to arrive before 3pm tomorrow.
Re: Itinerary for BWE Maine '09
Jim,
I've exhausted all of my options but unfortunately there's no way to make it down to Maine. We're absolutely swamped at the hospital and as much as I've looked forward to raiding the How cellar I'll have to take a rain check. Hoping everyone has a great time and I know there will be another opportunity in the future.
Have fun and be safe,
Danny
PS Updates as the weekend unfolds are welcome.

Same here, Rob and Sue. Have a safe trip!
I had a long talk with Jay yesterday, I'm really looking forward to the Thursday dinner. And the Friday clambake! Now we have to figure out a plan for Saturday with the crew from Mass.
The weather looks good, maybe a little rain on Friday but nothing serious.

The space shuttle/space station is supposed to be passing overhead here in Maine Thursday night a little after 8pm, hopefully we can see it out on the back deck!

Re: Itinerary for BWE Maine '09
Weather report keeps looking better. Looks like nothing but sun all week through Friday for the clambake and into Saturday, a few showers possible on Saturday.
We have had an absolutely stunning September so far. This may be my favorite time of year.

Can't ask for a better weather report. I imagine it will be a bot cooler on the coast?

This is the Portland weather report, Jay, on the coast a half hour south of Boothbay Harbor. It should be about the same.
Bring a sweater or sweatshirt, though.
